You Should Have Come Over

A stillness came to the house when you were around
At night, as the music began to fade out.
I surrendered as my walls came tumbling down
And the mark in my forehead became just a frown.

Your breath filled the air as I lay awake in bed,
Your scent the only company to keep my nightmares in check.

My memories were entangled with your hair
They came to me with the wind as I followed your trail
I had to forget them, you said, forgive her and give it a rest.
Your voice drowned under the sound of the ocean’s waves.

I wanted to sing and call out your name,
Give you my song and take you away.

Silence, however, is all that remains.

Hauntingly beautiful, have the feeling I may be back to read this many times.

As for the recording, I'll need to come back to be able to listen to that, no earphones where I am (bummer!) - and I've been waiting to hear your voice for absolutely ages!

Hope things are good there. Thanks for the kind message recently re: my father, very much appreciated.
    Have a wonderful week! :-)
